How to Make Invisible Password Protected Folder

Do you want to password protect your folder? Do you want to make it invisible so that it remains unnoticed by the normal users? Well here is a way to do that. In this post I will show you how to make a password protected folder in Windows without using any additional software. Here is is step by step procedure to create a password protected folder.



How to create a Password Protected Folder

Step-1: Create a new folder (Right-click -> New -> Folder) and give it any name of your choice. For instance I name it as ABC.

Step-2: Now in this folder place all the important files, documents or any folders that you want to password protect.

Step-3: Now Right-click on this folder (ABC) and select the option Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder.

Step-4: Now a new compressed zipped folder gets created next this folder (ABC) with the same name.

Step-5: Double-click on this compressed zipped folder and you should see your original folder (ABC) here.

Step-6: Now goto the File menu and select the option Add a password.

ie: File -> Add a password

Now a small window will pop up and here you can set your desired password. Once the password is set, the folder will ask for the password every time it is opened. Thus you have now created the password protected folder.



How to make it Invisible

Step-1: Now Right-click on this password protected folder and select Properties.

Step-2: At the bottom select the option Hidden and press OK. Now your folder gets invisible (hidden).

Step-3: In order to unhide this folder go to My Computer – >Tools -> Folder options. Switch to View tab, scroll down and under Hidden files and folders you’ll see the following two options

* Do not show hidden files and folders
* Show hidden files and folders

Now select the second option and press OK. Now the invisible folder becomes visible in it’s location. To access it you need the password. To make it invisible again repeat step -1 through step-3 and select the first option and click OK. Now the folder becomes invisible once again.

WIN 98 HACK

So how do u get into windows let's see. in windows 98 when u set pswd it store in password in *.pwl file. where * includes the user account name pwl is extension of that file.for example if there is user names as sagar then file will like [raja.pwl] ok now reboot the computer and when u see msg "starting win9x" press f8 to see boot options, now press 7 to enter command prompt.now follow the below instruction:

c:\>cd windows
c:\windows>ren *.pwl *.xyz
or
delete these files by typing
c:\windows>del *.pwl

now restart ur system n u did it.

When it prompts login system will now ask u 4 the new pswd to set.
What happens when u delete the pswd file the system was unable 2 find the pswd file in which pswd to verify.
Actually in windows 98 system without lan doesn't requires the pswd to get into the window.Just click cancel at the login but if u hav lan ur unable to access it.

TEXT FILE SAVE

I AM TELLING THIS TRICK ABOUT HOW TO MAKE SOMEONE FEEL THAT THERE IS A VIRUS IN THEIR COMPUTER ALTHOUGH THERE WOULDN'T BE ANY VIRUS (ITS FOR FUN GUYS).
WRITE ANYTHING ON NOTEPAD THEN WHEN YOU ARE ABOUT TO SAVE IT PUT A "?" MARK AT THE END OF THE "STRING OF WORDS" YOU DESIGNATED TO SAVE.
YOU WOULD CERTAINLY FIND THAT THE TEXT FILE IS NOT GETTING SAVED.

Increase Internet Speed

Try this , if you have windows XP professional (or even VISTA)
this is for broad band connections/dial up running Windows XP.

1. log on as Administrator.
2. start - run - type gpedit.msc
3. expand "local computer policy"
4. then expand "administrative templates"
5. then expand "network branch"
6. Highlight the "QoS Packet Scheduler"
7. on right window double click "limit reservable bandwidth"
8. on setting tab check the "enabled"
9. change "Bandwidth limit %" to 0

reboot if prompted

this is because Windows XP reserve 20% of the bandwidth for its self.
